“I have attended Corinne’s beautifully organised Neurographic workshops, and now use this form of art therapy often. Whenever I am confused from some current experience, I take time with the felt tips and put pen to paper in the random form of the Neurographic, with black and white lines and then colour blocking. The abstract, visual process tells me where I am really at, what is really going on and the final image informs me positively of what is happening in the present. As the drawing has come from an emotional response, I understand what the final image is telling me and therefore am supported in whatever I am going through.”
“The changes we have seen in our 9 yr old daughter since she started art therapy with Corinne have been amazing. Our daughter was lacking in self confidence, having explosive angry emotional outbursts and afraid to give things that were out of her comfort zone a go. The first few sessions she was completely shut down and although she'd participate in the art activities, she would hardly say a word. Corinne was wonderful with her. Patient, kind, encouraging, affirming and worked really hard on building a relationship that our daughter could trust. We now have a much more settled, confident, resilient and emotionally intelligent child. I am so proud of how far she has come and have no hesitation is recommending Corinne to other parents.”
“My son has been coming to Corinne for the last 4 months since he turned 4 years old. He was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder at age 3 and a half. His speech and learning is delayed by about a year. Corinne has developed a strong relationship with my son. She is kind but pushes him to achieve and pushes past his demand avoidance. Initially he was overly excitable and found it hard to keep still, running from one place to the next. He would stay with each structured activity for less than 1 minute. He would get frustrated easily and is communication was limited. He was also working on toilet training. Because of these factors, Corinne first of all worked on emotional regulation. Amazingly in 3 short months my son could self-regulate and has been able to say when he is tired or when he needs to rest or have a spin on the swing. He will take himself of his own volition off for a lie down. The low light and soft music calms his sensory system overloaded from dealing with the everyday world. As well, he has become more comfortable in expressing his feelings. He can say I’m sad, I’m happy and notice these feelings in others noticeably his sister. Since coming to Corinne we got a him a swing for at home too which he loves. Now that he is calmer, he has been able to partake in play therapy. Corinne’s play therapy is child lead. He can choose the activity that most takes his interest. His fine motor skills are increasing as Corinne works on these with him whether through art or building activities which he loves and I’m confident he will have the basic skills in place before school starts next year.”
